How to use it

  1. Choose 1D bars or 2D sheets and enter available stock and required parts in millimetres.
  2. Set quantities, saw kerf, rotation permissions and grain direction; mark existing offcuts.
  3. Review placements, the cut sequence, reusable remnants and any unplaced parts.
  4. Export the checked plan as PDF, CSV or JSON.

A 1,000 mm bar with two 400 mm pieces and two 3 mm cuts leaves 194 mm. If the stock is exactly 803 mm, only one cut is needed between the two pieces.

Details & limits

Bounded 1D/2D guillotine heuristic, up to 200 parts. Dimensions use 0.1 mm precision. Full kerf stays inside stock. Every placement is checked; global optimality is not promised.

Is the layout guaranteed to use the least material?

No. It uses a bounded guillotine-cut heuristic and checks dimensions, quantities, grain and kerf. Unplaced parts stay visible, including cases where a different layout might work. Review the cut sequence and measurements before cutting; the diagram is a plan, not machine instructions.
