Invoice XML or PDF files

Up to 10 files / 50 MiB total; XML 5 MiB; PDF 25 MiB / 100 pages. Up to 1,000 items per invoice and 2,000 per batch. PDF attachments: 20 files, 10 MiB each / 20 MiB expanded total; invoice XML still has the 5 MiB limit. 32,767 characters per field. UTF-8 / UTF-16; no DTDs or external entities.

Synthetic examples have English/German descriptions. They demonstrate extraction and arithmetic, without claiming official invoice or PDF/A conformance.

What is actually checked

XML readability: well-formedness, bounded structure, namespace-aware fields. UBL Invoice-2 / CreditNote-2 and CII namespace 100.
Schema / profile: not checked. A declared XRechnung, ZUGFeRD or Factur-X profile is not proof of conformity. A CII namespace alone does not establish a ZUGFeRD version.
Official business rules: not checked. No XSD/Schematron engine or official validator runs here. PDF/A, signatures, authenticity and visual/XML consistency are not checked.
Arithmetic: VWT arithmetic 1 checks selected calculations with a 0.01 tolerance. A readable XML file or a consistent calculation is not a passed E-invoice validation.

How to use it

Read supported UBL/CII XML files or PDFs containing invoice XML attachments.
Choose the intended XML attachment explicitly when a PDF contains several candidates.
Inspect parties, items, taxes, adjustments and the listed arithmetic checks or discrepancies.
Export the extracted source values and check results as XLSX or JSON.

The synthetic CII credit note CREDIT-0007 declares EUR 12.50. Its positive source amount stays positive, and its long item identifier remains text in the report.

XML up to 5 MiB or PDF up to 25 MiB. Up to 10 files, 50 MiB combined and 2,000 line items. XML syntax and arithmetic checks; no XSD, Schematron, profile or PDF/A certification.

Does a passed arithmetic check certify an XRechnung or ZUGFeRD file?

No. Reading fields and checking selected arithmetic does not replace a complete schema, business-rule or PDF/A validation. The report states its scope and preserves discrepancies and source signs. It does not combine totals across invoices or silently turn credit-note amounts negative.
