How to use it
- Choose a PDF or try the two-page example with a full embedded font and a genuine subset.
- Select original text on the page and choose Edit. Correct individual characters, insert text or delete the selected text.
- Check the font status. Missing characters block the change. A wider text area and right anchoring require your explicit choice.
- Apply the change. The actual PDF is written and reopened, object properties are checked and all changed pages are rendered. Undo, redo or inspect selected search replacements.
- Compare original and checked output, then download that checked file. Removing the file ends its local session.
Change 2026 to 2027 and 125.00 to 129.00. On page 2 the true subset has no 8: changing the year to 2028 is rejected instead of silently dropping a glyph.
Details & limits
Local processing: 25 MiB, 100 pages, up to 200 changed text objects and 4,000 characters per object. Supported embedded TrueType fonts use horizontal Type-0/Identity-H encoding and verified character mappings. Missing glyphs, complex positioning, semantic marked text and reused forms are blocked. Standard fonts require an explicit substitute choice. Font-file import verifies identity only; it does not extend a subset. No OCR workaround or secure-redaction claim. Existing encrypted, signed, XFA, attachment and image restrictions remain.
Does the editor keep the original font and really remove replaced text?
For supported text the engine reuses the embedded font resource and changes its actual text object. Replaced content is not covered. The final full rewrite omits unreferenced previous content; other pages and referenced metadata remain. This is not a universal font guarantee or secure redaction. Scans, outline letters and unsafe encodings cannot be edited this way.
