How to use it

  1. 1Load a PDF or the example with repeated embedded pictures.
  2. 2Extract and inspect the picture thumbnails, pixel dimensions, source pages and placement counts.
  3. 3Read any unsupported-image notices. A partial result is not a complete extraction.
  4. 4Choose pictures and save them individually or together in a ZIP.

The same photo used on pages 1 and 2 is offered once, with both page numbers. A 640 × 480 embedded picture stays 640 × 480 regardless of its printed size.

Details & limits

Up to 25 MiB and 100 pages; 60 seconds. Encrypted/signed PDFs, XFA, attachments, active actions and unsupported image encodings are rejected. No PDF/A or accessibility certification. Up to 100 distinct painted images, 12 MP each, 40 MP total, 8,192 px per side and 25 MiB output including ZIP. RGB/grayscale JPEG or supported 8-bit raw/Flate pixels; simple grayscale soft masks. Unsupported colour spaces/masks are reported, not silently converted.

Does this save the page exactly as seen?

No. It extracts embedded picture pixels, not a page screenshot. Text, vector diagrams, page clipping, placement rotation and colour effects are not baked into the image. Use PDF to JPG or PNG for the full visible page. Original JPEG bytes and their metadata are retained; unsupported cases are identified.

Reuse pictures without taking a page screenshot

Start with a PDF containing a logo, illustration or photograph you are entitled to reuse. Check the actual source dimensions before planning a large print: a small embedded image does not gain detail through extraction. The page references help locate the picture in context.

Extract embedded raster images at their stored pixel size. JPEG data stays unchanged; supported RGB/gray images are saved losslessly as PNG, including supported soft transparency. This does not photograph PDF pages.

Local processing · PDF up to 25 MiB / 100 pages · 100 distinct images · 12 MP per image / 40 MP total · 25 MiB export. Rotations, crops and effects applied on the PDF page are not baked into source images. Native JPEGs may retain their embedded metadata.

Supported image types and limits

Supported: embedded JPEG with standard RGB or gray colour, and 8-bit RGB/gray image streams with no filter or Flate compression (including standard predictors). Matching 8-bit gray soft masks are preserved as PNG transparency. ICC/CMYK/indexed/spot colours, hard masks, matte correction and JPEG soft masks are reported rather than silently converted. Inline images, JPEG2000, JBIG2 and certain complex PDFs are rejected by the shared safety checks. Encrypted or signed PDFs, embedded attachments and active PDF actions remain blocked.
