Render selected visible PDF pages as real PNG or JPEG files. This creates page images; it does not extract the original embedded image files.

How to use it

  1. Load a PDF or the synthetic example and choose physical pages; an empty selection means all pages.
  2. Choose PNG or JPEG. Use a 72, 144 or 300 dpi preset, or enter a custom resolution within the pixel limits.
  3. For JPEG, choose quality. Select white or black for empty page areas, or transparent for PNG.
  4. Render the selected pages and inspect the encoded preview and exact pixel dimensions for each page.
  5. Download one image, the selected individual page, or a ZIP with numbered images. Reset clears generated image URLs and the active source.

A 612 × 792 pt Letter page rendered at 144 dpi produces a 1,224 × 1,584 pixel image. Selecting more than one page creates a ZIP containing page-numbered files, with original physical page numbers preserved in their names.

Details & limits

Up to 25 MiB input/output and 100 pages; 60 seconds per operation. Encrypted or digitally signed PDFs, XFA, embedded files, active document actions and nonstandard UserUnit scales are unsupported. Checked JPEG and unfiltered/Flate images are supported within decoded-resource limits; no inline images, JPEG 2000, JBIG2 or CCITT. No PDF/A, PDF/UA or signature-validity certification. Rendering: 36–576 dpi, 12 MP per page, 60 MP total and 8,192 px per side. JPEG quality 10–100%. Transparent empty backgrounds are PNG-only. Combined export is limited to 25 MiB; reduce resolution or page selection when necessary.

Does this extract the original pictures or keep text selectable?

No. It renders the complete visible page into pixels, including its crop and rotation. It does not extract embedded source images and cannot retain selectable PDF text or interactive fields in a PNG/JPEG. A drawn page background stays drawn even if you choose transparency for empty areas. Increasing dpi raises pixel and memory requirements without restoring detail absent from the source.
