Changing the format can also change the background behind your picture.

A PNG can contain transparent areas. The checkerboard stands for those areas, not printed squares.

Choose and review a solid background for JPEG. Use supported PNG or WebP output if transparency must remain.
Check the actual converted image and keep the source file, especially when colour or transparency matters.

How to use it
- Select up to ten still images or use the HEIC/AVIF example batch.
- Choose output format, quality, transparency background and optional maximum dimensions.
- Convert and inspect successes and any explicitly reported failures.
- Download individual images or the ZIP; keep your originals.
The rotated HEIC example decodes to 64 × 96 pixels. Transparent PNG pixels remain transparent in PNG/WebP when Preserve alpha is chosen.
Details & limits
Up to 10 still images, 10 MiB / 20 MP / 8,192 px each and 50 MiB combined. HEIC decoder included; AVIF and output encoders depend on browser support. Originals and metadata are not copied into pixel exports.
What happens to metadata and unsupported variants?
Exports are rebuilt from 8-bit sRGB canvas pixels. Source EXIF/GPS/XMP is not retained; the browser may add an sRGB profile. HDR and original color-profile preservation are not promised. Animation, sequences and multiple primary images are rejected. HEIC is decoded locally; AVIF depends on browser support. No cloud fallback.
Choose the copy your recipient needs
Conversion creates a new image for a particular use. Choose the receiving application's accepted format first, then decide whether you need the original dimensions or a smaller copy. A different filename extension alone does not convert the image data.
Share phone photos with a JPEG-only service
Make JPEG copies of supported HEIC photos, then inspect every successful result for orientation and colour before uploading. Treat a batch as individual conversions: a reported failure must not be mistaken for an image included in the ZIP. Keep the originals when you still need their metadata, original colour information or editing history outside this tool.
Prepare pictures and a transparent logo
A 2,400 × 1,600 photo fitted inside 900 × 900 pixels becomes 900 × 600; the box is a maximum, not a square crop. A smaller 120 × 80 source stays that size. For a logo that needs a transparent background, choose PNG or WebP with alpha preserved instead of JPEG. Review photos and logos separately if they need different settings.
Check your result
- Compare the successful result count and filenames with the inputs you intended to deliver, then open the downloaded files.
- Check upright orientation, visible detail and transparent edges against the intended background.
- Read the resulting file size separately from pixel dimensions. Format conversion does not promise a smaller file or a particular upload ceiling.
If something looks wrong
An AVIF or requested output format is unavailable
Actual browser codec support matters. Choose another output format accepted by the recipient, or try a browser with the required support. Renaming the extension cannot add a decoder or encoder.
An animated or multi-image file is refused
Use a tool intended for that format, or obtain the intended still image from its source application. This converter does not silently choose one frame on your behalf.
