The unit price does not tell the whole story

The higher unit price can still give the lower total.

Compare specifications and terms before choosing a supplier.

Illustrative example. Synthetic numeric example. Not current data from your business.

How to use it

  1. 1Enter a shared currency and comparable quantities for the offers.
  2. 2Add unit prices, discounts, shipping and other charges. Add each supplier’s quoted delivery time.
  3. 3Compare the calculated totals and unit costs, then export the comparison for your purchasing decision.

Example: 10 units at 10.00 plus 15.00 shipping cost 115.00. An offer at 10.50 per unit with free shipping totals 105.00, despite the higher item price.

Details & limits

Up to 10 offers in one currency. No exchange rates or automatic quality scoring. Lower cost does not establish the best supplier.

Does the lowest total identify the best supplier?

No. The comparison uses the entered costs only. Check that quantities, specifications and tax treatment match. Delivery reliability, quality, payment terms and returns can matter more than a small price difference. There is no automatic exchange-rate conversion or supplier verification.

Compare complete costs on the same basis

A lower unit price can be offset by freight or additional charges. Compare the same specification and quantity, and apply a consistent approach to tax. Keep delivery and qualitative notes beside the financial comparison. The cheapest calculated offer is only a cost result; it does not certify supplier reliability or product quality.
