Join wrapped lines, keep paragraphs
A copied line break is not always the end of a paragraph. The PDF text profile treats blank lines as paragraph boundaries.

Text copied with line wraps
The first two lines belong to one sentence. The blank line separates a new paragraph.

One sentence, two paragraphs
The wrapped sentence becomes one line. The paragraph break stays in place.
Choose paragraph-aware joining when blank lines carry meaning.
Illustrative example. Lists and code-like lines receive additional protection. Joining words split by a hyphen is a separate option and is off in this profile. Check the result against the intended structure.
How to use it
- Paste copied plain text and choose a profile or individual rules.
- Inspect the enabled rules, then apply the cleanup.
- Compare the result with the original; restore, copy or download TXT.
A sentence split by a single line break can be joined while an empty line still separates paragraphs. “E-Mail” keeps its ordinary hyphen.
Details & limits
Optional line-end joining is a heuristic. Paragraphs, lists and meaningful hyphens require review.
Can automatic cleanup damage meaningful formatting?
It can if the wrong rules are selected. Lists and paragraph boundaries are treated conservatively. Joining hyphenated line endings is an optional heuristic; inspect such changes rather than assuming they are corrections.
Remove copied formatting without losing useful structure
Decide which breaks are accidental and which carry meaning. A copied article, an address and a table may look similarly uneven but need different rules. Cleanup works on the pasted text; it cannot reconstruct columns or recover words that were never copied.
Reuse a paragraph copied from a PDF
Use the PDF profile when a sentence is broken at the end of each printed line. ‘Project’ followed by ‘update.’ on the next nonempty line becomes ‘Project update.’ Blank-line paragraphs and recognized bullet or numbered list lines remain separate. Check headings and column transitions yourself: two adjacent text lines do not prove they belong in one sentence.
Clean an address or short description
For an address whose lines matter, preserve line breaks and adjust spacing only. For a description that truly belongs in one field, the one-line profile replaces every line break with a space. It also flattens blank paragraphs and list boundaries. Do not apply that profile to a table, poem or structured address simply because it produces a neater-looking block.
Check your result
- Compare the beginning and end of each paragraph with the unchanged original, including lists, headings and numbers.
- Review each line-end hyphen before enabling word joining. The heuristic can join a genuine compound as well as a word split by layout.
- If spacing carries structure, inspect tab settings and the rule that trims line edges; preserving line breaks alone does not preserve indentation.
If something looks wrong
Text from two PDF columns becomes mixed
The clipboard may already contain the wrong reading order. Copy one column at a time or obtain a better text extraction before cleaning. This tool has no page-position information with which to reorder the text.
An invisible gap or an OCR mistake remains
Ordinary spaces, tabs and selected breaks are treated separately from nonbreaking spaces and emoji joiners. Cleanup is not spelling correction or OCR. Inspect the original character or word and edit it deliberately rather than removing all invisible characters.
