How to use it

  1. 1Lower the system volume. Select the intended output here if supported, otherwise in system settings.
  2. 2Play Left, then Right, then Both.
  3. 3Confirm each channel only if you actually heard the expected output.
  4. 4Stop sound or reset; review a local report if useful.

If Left is audible in both earpieces, inspect mono-audio and channel-mixing settings. Generating a signal alone does not confirm working speakers.

Details & limits

Explicit playback only, 440 Hz / 1.6 seconds with volume ramp. Browser/system output routing; no microphone capture or sound-pressure measurement.

Does this measure hearing or speaker quality?

No. It records voluntary listening observations. Digital gain is not a calibrated acoustic volume and this is not a hearing test.

What this check measures

Each deliberately started 440 Hz tone lasts about 1.6 seconds. Output selection requires browser support; otherwise the system output remains available. Generated signals and completed playback are reported separately from hearing confirmation. Mono settings, Bluetooth profiles and application routing can change physical output. The page does not identify speaker defects automatically.

Lower your system volume first. Play a quiet 440 Hz signal for 1.6 seconds, then confirm what you actually heard. The microphone is never opened.

This browser does not expose output selection here. Choose your headphones or speakers in the system audio settings, then repeat playback.

Channel mixing, mono output and Bluetooth routing can change what you hear. A generated signal alone does not establish working speakers or the output used by another meeting app.
