How to use it

  1. 1Open each device step and explicitly start the test you need.
  2. 2Observe the result and optionally use its recording or snapshot action.
  3. 3Confirm your own observation or select an issue, follow its action and repeat the same check. You can skip any step.
  4. 4Compare previous and current results, then select report details for review and export. Step changes stop device access.

A microphone result and a skipped camera check produce a partial summary; the camera is not described as working or broken.

Details & limits

Three independent, explicitly started checks. Skipped steps remain not tested. No automatic recording, meeting login or app-compatibility guarantee.

Does the summary certify that my next meeting will work?

No. It summarizes your observations in this browser. Select the correct devices and check permissions again in the actual meeting application.

What this check measures

Browser microphone levels are relative dBFS, not calibrated room loudness. Optional recordings last at most ten seconds and are decoded before playback. Left/right tones test browser output; you confirm what you hear. Stop, tab changes and the five-minute session limit release media access. Meeting applications may select different devices.

Work through the three independent checks. Each device is requested only when you start its test. Changing steps stops the previous device. Skip any step you do not need.

Microphone

See the signal arriving in your browser. Recording and playback are separate, optional actions.

Ready. Access starts only when you choose Start.

— dBFS RMS

Start the test and speak at your usual meeting volume.

2,048 samples per observation, at most 10 observations/s; history shows the last 30 observations. dBFS is digital level, not sound pressure. Below −60 dBFS indicates a very low sample; samples at or above 0.99 full scale are counted as possible clipping. These are reference levels, not a device diagnosis.

Listen to a short recording

Up to 10 seconds / 5 MiB in memory. The recording is decoded and checked before it is offered. Playback starts only when you press Play. Use headphones to avoid feedback.

Issue → action → repeat

The following buttons record your own observation. They do not certify a device or meeting app.
