Watermark a PDF

Place your own text or image watermark with opacity, rotation and layer controls.

Processed on your deviceFree · No account needed

Place your own text or image on selected pages. Original content remains underneath. Watermarks are neither copy protection nor redaction.

How to use it

  1. Choose a PDF and the pages to mark; an empty selection means all pages.
  2. Enter your own text or select your own PNG/JPEG/WebP image. Choose dark red, black or white for a text watermark.
  3. Set the centre as percentages from the left and top. Adjust text size or image width, angle and opacity.
  4. Choose foreground or background. Background watermarks can disappear behind an opaque page, and high-opacity foreground marks can obscure content.
  5. Create the PDF, inspect the actual exported preview on light and dark areas, then download watermarked.pdf.

Place COPY at the centre of a synthetic page with 30% opacity and a 35° angle. A background export must put the new drawing before the original page streams; a foreground export must put it above them.

Rotation −180° to 180°, opacity 1–100%; the whole watermark must fit on the visible page.

Does a watermark protect the document from copying or remove hidden content?

No. It adds visible page content while retaining the original content and supported document features. It is not copy protection or secure redaction. Images are normalised for placement; do not use this tool as an image-metadata preservation workflow. Inspect readability and contrast in the exported document before sharing it.
