How to use it

  1. Select a PNG, JPEG or WebP containing a QR code, or try the example.
  2. Read the decoded content. If nothing is found, try a sharper crop that keeps the code’s white border.
  3. Copy the text or deliberately open an offered web link after checking its destination.

Details & limits

One still PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 10 MiB, 20 megapixels and 8192 pixels per dimension. Reading uses at most 1800 pixels on the longest side and returns one code. Damaged or tiny codes may not decode.

Does reading the QR code open its website or connect to Wi-Fi?

No. Content is displayed as text. A normal HTTP or HTTPS address may offer an explicit open-link button; other payloads remain text. The reader does not verify a website, payment request or Wi-Fi configuration. It does not request camera access.

Inspect a saved code without another device

A QR code in a screenshot cannot conveniently be pointed at the camera on the same phone. Open that image here to inspect the encoded text. For a small code inside a large picture, crop closely while retaining its white border. The result stays text until you choose otherwise. Decoding identifies the payload; it does not assess the safety of a destination, payment request or Wi-Fi setting.
