Seats first, then the rules
Enough chairs do not automatically mean that every seating rule can be satisfied.
Count the required seats
Six guests needing a seat fit across two four-seat tables, leaving two places free.
Check a possible assignment Table Guests 1 · 3/4 Lea · Noah · Sam 2 · 3/4 Mina · Luca · Robin Check a possible assignment
The rules are: Lea with Noah, and Lea apart from Mina. This assignment meets both; every table stays within capacity.
- Checked: Enough seats in this example
- Unchecked: Your complete rule set still to check
Apply only after review
Check fixed seats and all remaining rules in the real proposal before replacing your current plan.
A same-table rule does not promise neighbouring chairs. Unassigned guests remain visible for review.
Illustrative example. Fictional guests and assignment, not an automatic proposal. The bounded search does not guarantee an optimal solution or venue safety.
How to use it
- Try the example with 80 guests and ten tables, or import your guest list. Check duplicate names without merging different people.
- Set table capacities and arrange the room. Assign guests by dragging or selecting a guest and seat. Add fixed seats and only the rules you need.
- Review an automatic proposal before applying it. Check conflicts, save an editable project and print the same plan, guest lists, signs or place cards.
80 guests fit ten eight-seat tables only when the same-table and separate-table rules also allow it. Guests without their own seat are retained in the list but do not consume a place. Removing a table or reducing its capacity returns affected guests to the unassigned list.
Details & limits
Up to 500 guests, 100 tables and 30 seats per table. Automatic seating uses a bounded search and independent rule checks; it is not guaranteed optimal. Room warnings are not a fire-safety or legal-capacity assessment. Local projects and exports; public links require a separately configured sharing service.
Does automatic seating guarantee every request can be met?
No. Contradictory rules and oversized same-table groups are reported. A bounded search can also stop without finding a solution; that is not proof that no solution exists. Every proposal is checked separately. Same table does not mean neighbouring chairs. Layout warnings do not certify safe escape routes or venue capacity. Private notes and relationship rules are not included in public views or place cards.
